Your favourite non-agency agency
I'm Gem, founder of Thunderwolf.

I work with lovely people who are passionate about what they’re doing – whether they work in professional services, a growing SaaS company, or a non-profit.

From brand copy to strategic communications, I’m a copywriter with a marcomms background or an all-rounder with a copywriting background.

I write copy, build strategies, produce campaigns and team up with other creatives and marketing professionals to provide an agency experience but with more flexibility.
How it works
I work in three different ways: I can be your freelance copywriter. Your marcomms expert. Or I can act as a full service agency by teaming up with my trusted team of freelance specialists.

Copywriter
I've written for B2B, B2C, non-profits, B2B2C and professional services. I distil complex information into straightforward, accessible communications.

Who is Gem
Gemma was a tiny 5' northern fish in a big global pond. She was a big thinker but an even bigger overthinker. Things went wrong. Things went right.

Gemma got lost in the big pond.
What pond?
Gemma ping ponged between copywriting and marketing. The midlands to London. She worked for big brands, growing companies and agencies. Then she went global.
She travelled from the UK to Australia, Asia to South America. But her curiosity grew.

Then what happened?

She came back and became a primary school teacher. Gemma loved teaching. It taught her a lot. About herself. About her choices. About people.
But she missed her old life. The one where she could lose herself in a big problem and come up with a thousand creative answers.

And the rest is history

Gem went back to copywriting and marketing. After two wonderful employed positions at Brandon Trust and Hybrid Media, Gem decided it was time to stand on her own two feet.
Thunderwolf was born in 2023. Not as an accident, or a side hustle, or a happy mistake—but as the result of years of overthinking, experimenting, failing, learning, and starting again.

Because sometimes it takes getting lost in the big pond to realise you’re actually pretty good at swimming.
